Time For Some Fun ...

Have you ever heard of a "Secret Shopper Retreat?" If you said, "No," join the club. Most people have never heard of any such thing, and that's too bad! Your "One Stop Secret Shopper" program includes a retreat for key people after the results are in.

Staying On Purpose ...

While retreats can and should be fun (our retreats are lots of fun!!!), the real purpose for a retreat is work!

  • Retreats are not a reward, although they can prove to be rewarding!
  • Retreats are not for training, although participants can learn a lot!
  • Retreats are not unstructured, although the environment is usually loose and casual.
  • Retreats have a purpose. And that purpose is usually to plan something or to solve some kind of problem.
  • That's what we do with the "One Stop Secret Shopper" program.

Getting Them Together -- Getting It Together Too ...

We get your key players together for a fast and fun, one-day retreat that pulls all the information together and focuses the resources and activities on realistic improvements that will make a difference in:

  • One-Stop Systems.
  • Customer Satisfaction.
  • Staff and Program Capacity.

Sound familiar? It should. That's what we looked at in the program, and now, it's time to do something meaningful with that information. Here's what we do during the "Secret Shopper Retreat."

  • Untangle - untangle the thinking about mystery shopping and the results in the various reports.
  • Vision - help create and establish vision that focuses on tangible actions that will address continuous improvements in systems, customer satisfaction, and staff and program capacity.
  • Advance - translate the vision into simple and straightforward action steps that can be implemented quickly after the retreat.
  • Accountability - build a comfortable system of accountability among participants that will foster and promote continuous improvement as a part of the culture and fabric of the local workforce investment area.

Location and Venue ...

Here's what you should know about your "Secret Shopper Retreat."

  • The retreat takes place off site at a nearby and convenient location.
  • The actual location and venue will be coordinated with local WIB staff.
  • The cost of facilitation is already included in the cost of the program. It is not an additional charge.
  • There may, however, be additional costs to cover travel and per diem for retreat facilitators, but this is usually minimal (one day on site plus travel to and from the retreat site).
  • The retreat lasts for one day. It typically begins at 9 am and wraps up by 4 pm. with a break for lunch.
  • It should include decision makers from the WIB staff, as well as decision makers from each of the one-stop career centers in the program.
  • Ideally, it should also include frontline workers (staff and partners) to broaden the perspectives in the conversations.
  • The "One Stop Secret Shopper" team facilitates your retreat, but your team will create its own solutions and plan its own action steps.

What happens during the retreat drives the "coaching" activities that will take place with one-stop operators after the retreat. As we explained earlier, our team will deliver Success Coaching to your team to help build momentum for improvements.

The coaching performed by our staff helps ensure that your one-stop operators are able to "make the transition from information to action."
